Mightsoft specializes in developing software applications that cater to your multimedia needs. For example it developed applications that can rip DVDs, convert media from one format to another, and edit media files. From the later category, the category of applications that can edit media files, we’ve chosen to focus our attention on an application called Audio Editor Pro.

You too can download and put this application through its paces. The download weighs in at little over 10MB, so it should complete in little to no time at all on a high-speed internet connection. The installation process should go along smoothly, without a hitch. After all, the only thing you have to do is follow the instructions the setup wizard presents.

Speaking of installing applications, Audio Editor Pro works with all versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system.

Once installed on your system Audio Editor Pro offers a multifunctional visual interface for you to edit audio files. The application offers support for a wide range of audio formats: MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, VOX, and RAW. Take an mp3 file for example, load it into Audio Editor Pro to get a waveform image of the audio file. Next you can edit that file as you see fit. There are several options at your disposal: cut, copy, paste, delete silence, paste, paste from file, mix, mix from file.

During your audio editing you can take advantage of the 6 filters and more than 20 sound effects provided by Audio Editor Pro.

The functionality provided by Audio Editor Pro does not stop at simply letting you edit audio tracks. You can also use Audio Editor Pro to edit MP3 tags, to rip audio CDs, to convert files, and to record audio.

Mightsoft offers two Audio Editor versions: Audio Editor Pro and Audio Editor Basic. The Basic edition is not free. It is just a bit cheaper. The catch is that for less money you also get a reduction of features. For example you don’t get any filters and no audio CD ripper.

The functionality provided by Audio Editor Pro allows you to edit audio tracks, convert audio files, edit MP3 tags, rip audio CDs, and much more. All this at an affordable price.

Pros

  • Waveform image of the audio file
  • Supports various audio formats
  • 6 filters, more than 20 sound effects
  • Edit MP3 tags
  • Rip audio CDs
  • Convert files

Cons

  • Free to use only during the 30-day trial period
  • Save function is disabled in the trial version
  • You can convert no more than 4 files with the trial version
